The Little Things-Song of Songs 2:15

Mother Teresa, «Always be faithful in little things, for in them our strength lies.»

I love the entry today in, «Take My Heart, Oh God.» The little things are those times of choice when we can make a decision, right or wrong, when no one really knows.We all know that God knows, but sometimes it is easy to think that He doesn’t really care about one little matter.

I will share a «true confession,» to illustrate an example.I was playing scrabble online with several people who I knew.Sometimes when I couldn’t come up with a word, I would go to Scrabble Word Finder, type in my letters and then choose a word from their list and enter it into the scrabble game.I would always feel guilty, like I was cheating a friend, but I would put it out of my mind, and then «try not to do it the next time.» (Like that somehow made up for my cheating, previously.) I had a sense though, that my relationship with the Lord was blocked, on my part, because I was pretending that I had not really cheated.Finally, I had to decide that if I felt I had to get help in order to play, that I should quit playing, rather than go against my values.It really can be a tiny thing that trips us up in our relationship with the Lord.It feels so good to get those out of our lives, and stay true to Him in the «little things.»

Maybe one of you have an example to share.Come on, it’s just us ..:)
