How do i stop my acne and it's redness!!!?

How do i stop my acne and it's redness!!!? by Perfecto Insecto I've had acne for a few years now. As of right now, I'd say it's mild or maybe a little above mild but what makes it look terrible is the redness and oiliness of my skin! I was my face every morning and night with cetaphil (for normal to oily skin) and eat extremely healthy. My skin feels dry after i wash it but whenever I put moisturizer on my face it tends to make it really oily (it's an oil free moisturizer) and tends to break out even more!

I'm about to go on a big date this Friday and I'm wanting to calm down my acne. Is there anything I can do in 4-5 days that will at least calm it down. Also!, any other tips that will help stop acne for good will be GREATLY appreciated!

i do not recomend puting moisturizer or any other type of cream on your face.it will make it go away for a day or 2 but it opens all your pores and many more will come out.so i juz recomend you get a towell and wash your face with just (water) nothing else water dosent open up your pores nd your acne will calm down.every 5 hours or so.hoped i helped

You could go to the doctor's and get a prescription. They usually work pretty quickly.Or I've heard a lot of good things about Neutogena and ProActive if it'll take too long for the prescription to come in or your against it or something.I used to have really oily skin and I'm still battling with my achne, but if you're consistent with Cetaphil (which is what I use as well) once in the morning and once at night every day It should help.Oh and make sure you don't leave the Cetaphil on.You're only supposed to put it on and wash it off.

Here are a few helpful, (and natural) hints for a better complexion for a lifetime:
- avoid touching your face throughout the day (dirt, oils, & bacteria from your hands can clog the pores)
- avoid any products with alcohol (internally or externally) Alcohol can actually burn & irritate sensitive or inflamed skin.
- only use gentle, fragrance-free, oil-free, alcohol-free cleansers on your face
- avoid any scented soaps and creams
- have a daily facial cleansing routine (2x daily, morning & night.Do not scrub as this will irritate the skin)
- try a dairy milk face-soak during a flare-up (as long as you're not allergic) The dairy milk helps to balance the natural PH of the skin
- try using face lotion containing certified green algae or aloe vera gel (use lotions, not creams, as lotion is more gentle on the skin and absorbs more easily)
- try using pure tea tree oil for pimples & blemishes.Apply with a q-tip to each individual pimple or blemish.
- avoid extended periods in direct sun (use sunblock with 15 - 30 spf)
- drink pure green tea, rose hip tea, and fennel tea (great antioxidants)
- eat foods high in anti-oxidants; such as blueberries, cranberries, purple grapes, broccoli, etc..
- avoid spicy foods, greasy foods, and foods with a high refined-sugar content.
- avoid all deep-fried food, oily food, foods high in fats (butter, margarine, salad dressings, etc..) Too much fat in the diet disrupts proper digestion.
- many people find food with histamines aggravate the look of redness
- avoid hot things.Hot showers & hot tubs, hot drinks (the heat will dilate blood vessels causing more redness)
- try to get at least 7 - 8 hours of sleep each night (aids in the healing processes of the body)
- try to cut down on stress (stress can magnify a multitude of conditions)

Increase your omega 3 fatty acids by taking supplements such as Evening Primrose Oil, fish oils, etc And by eating walnuts, hazelnuts, or pecan nuts (if you're not allergic) Omega 3's aid in proper digestion and healthier skin.
Ground Fennel seeds and Flax seeds, as well as Flax seed Oil supplements (omega 3's) also act as anti-inflammatories.(reduce redness)

Try increasing your intake of vitamin D through supplements (1000 4000 IU/day) and B-complex to aid in healthier skin and maintaining a healthier immune system.

Some people have had success using Turmeric orally or topically. (reduce redness and acne)

Drink more water and avoid all alcohol & caffeine products (coffee, tea, pop, etc..) Alcohol & caffeine will actually dehydrate your skin.Water re-hydrates from the inside out.

Neutrogena makes an excellent moisturizer, simply called "Moisture".It's oil-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free and they have a type that is specifically made for sensitive skin.A little goes a long way, so the natural oils of your skin do not over-react.
Remember, your skin needs to breathe to heal.

I know there are other brands and products that may be similar. You need to find the one that works best with your skin and your body chemistry.

I have tried Pro Active and it didn't work for me.Tea Tree oil worked wonders for me, and right now I'm on the Dianette pill (obviously if you're a boy you cant take this pill) and it's worked wonders, my skin has never been better!I have oily skin too and tea tree oil does dry your skin out, but you only need the tiniest bit because it's very concentrated and strong.Once I used it too much, and it dried out my skin so much it was painful and felt like sunburn.I wouldn't use moisturiser, but Bio Oil because this is formulated to soak into the skin and not lube it up.It also reduces the appearance of scars from acne which has worked for me as well.

ANYWAY.If your a girl, ask your doctor for Dianette. It's a contraceptive pill that doubles as an acne treatment, and if your a boy, go for tea tree oil.If you find your skin getting too dry, try Bio Oil or E45 Moisturiser (because it has no additives it is less likely to cause acne).
Hope I helped!
