My husband was kind enough to get up early on Saturday to make me a homemade breakfast so it was only befitting for me to make something special for him on Sunday.В Our freezer was completely empty of waffles (as my husband brought to my attention this last week), so I wanted to make a large batch as a donation to the freezer.В Oatmeal has been my favorite ingredient lately so I had to make something with it.
The recipe is extremely easy to put together and can be made only half awake.В Lol, trust me, I managed so I’m sure you can too.В Actually, I don’t really follow the directions as much since I tend to toss everything together and whip it together.В Toss it in the waffle maker and breakfast is ready.
I highly suggest you purchasing any of Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s cookbooks, especially «Vegan with a Vengeance».В It’s worth the money which isn’t too much to begin with compared to other non-vegan cookbooks.В It takes the thinking out of the equation when you just don’t know what to make from scratch.
These waffles are light and crunchy, everything that a waffle should be.В Caution though, these are more savory waffles instead of sweet ones.В It does have around 15g sugar per 2 waffles but it is not overpowering like many others.В So, if you have a sweet tooth, I have warned you.В They are tasty though and my husband gave them 1 1/2 thumbs up.
If you do not have your own cookbook yet, I have found the you can see the recipe online for free on the Livestrong website.(http://www.livestrong.com/recipes/oatmeal-banana-raisin-waffles-vegan-with-vengeance/)
